In 1993, David Frost won the Canadian Open by one shot over Fred Couples. Frost made a two-putt birdie on the par-5 18th hole at the Glen Abbey Golf Club to seal the victory. He hit a 225-yard five-wood approach shot to the final hole, which set up his winning birdie.
Frost said of his final-hole approach shot, "It's not a shot you want to have to have to win a golf tournament. But once you've done it, once you've hit it, it's a pretty big relief."
The victory was Frost's seventh on the PGA Tour. He is a native of South Africa and has been a professional golfer since 1981.
