In 1996, Tiger Woods won his second PGA Tour event, the Walt Disney World/Oldsmobile Classic, by one stroke over Payne Stewart. Woods shot a final round 66 to seal the victory.
Rookie Taylor Smith tied Woods on the final hole, but was disqualified for using a non-conforming putter.
Woods, 20, became the youngest winner in the event's history and the first player in 15 years to finish in the top five in five consecutive PGA Tour events. He had won his first PGA Tour event two weeks earlier in Las Vegas.
